The Creative Services Division of the Lottery and Gaming Control Agency
The United States lottery dates back to the early 1700s. Newspaper ads from the colonial period suggest that hundreds of lotteries were operating in the 18th century. In 1934, Puerto Rico became the first US state to operate a lottery. New Hampshire joined the fray in 1964 and is set to become the 45th state to operate a lottery in 2021. Today, lottery games are played across the US and are categorized according to type: drawing, instant-win, and multi-state games.
The Lottery and Gaming Control Agency’s Creative Services division develops and evaluates advertising strategies. It purchases advertising space and time to promote the Lottery and raise awareness of winners. In addition, the division manages the production of lottery-branded print and broadcast advertising materials. Playing the lottery online isn’t for everyone. Many people find it more convenient to play in a physical lottery office. This way, they know that everything is legitimate, and they’ll get paid. Many lottery players who play online are hesitant to play because of their fear of losing money. If you’re in the same boat, download an app and start playing your favorite lottery games! But beware! It’s easy to get scammed by fraudulent lottery sites.
The history of online lottery play in the United States is still very young. At present, only seven states offer online lottery purchases. Federal legislation is still unclear on this issue. Nevertheless, online lottery sales are on the rise. Several online lottery sites are now legal, and some states are considering expanding their online offerings. However, the lottery industry is still relatively young and the future of online gaming is uncertain. So, the legality of online lottery sales will depend on where you live.
