What is Sic Bo?

The Sic Bo gambling machine originated in the coastal town of St. Ann, on the southeast coast of Ireland. In the 1950s, three men from the town began to develop and sell what is now known as the Sic Bo gambling machine. These men were Frank Coffey (aka Frank ‘the Rat’) O’Hagan (aka Frank ‘the Guy’) and John Coffey (aka John ‘the Colossus’) all of whom happened to be the best friends of Frank Coffey. These three men would often meet up at a pub called The Bell, where they discussed various things and used this pub as their main venue for gambling.

Through the years, several other people joined the group that would become the Sic Bo gambling empire. One of these people was Michael Collins, a man who would go on to become one of the best known bookmakers in Ireland. He would take bets from customers at the Bell and sell them to the public at a greatly reduced rate in exchange for providing the punters with odds that they would not normally have access to.
