What Is Good Health?

Health, in the scientific community, is defined as a condition in which the human body is capable of enduring environmental stresses that are normally encountered and that contribute to health. Health, as with all other things, varies from person to person and encompasses a broad range of activities and experiences. It is a common definition that there is something inherently wrong with one’s health when the body is not able to cope with the normal conditions that it usually comes across in its everyday life. The World Health Organization states, “Health is considered the state of a person’s ability to maintain his integrity with respect to his physical, emotional, and psychological health.”

Mental health can also be defined as a state of mind that is capable of managing everyday activities and emotions. When you talk about health conditions, it typically involves two major components: physical health and mental health. One can survive long if one has a strong body and physical health, but in cases where these elements are not healthy, the mental health can be affected. There are many reasons why this happens, with some of the major causes being genetic disorders, stress, and infections.

There is also the issue of how the lifestyle choices one makes can affect their overall health. For instance, those who smoke cigarettes, eat junk food, and are under a great deal of stress are at greater risk for getting an illness or developing a serious physical illness over time. In addition, some people are genetically pre-disposed to certain illnesses such as asthma or diabetes, so the better you prepare yourself for life’s challenges, the better off you’ll be.
